Konrad Technologies and NI Announce Replay and HIL ADAS/AD System Solution

Latest Innovation Increases Test Efficiency by Unifying Replay and HIL Test

RADOLFZELL, Germany – October 24, 2022 - Konrad Technologies (KT) and NI announce the latest advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving (AD) offering: a unified test system architecture to move iteratively between data replay and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.

NI Highlights Partner Solution

KT’s expertise in system integration and solution delivery combines with NI’s ADAS software-connected test solutions.

“NI is working with leaders in autonomous vehicle (AV) testing technology to provide the system-level capabilities our customers need to quickly and efficiently test the complex algorithms and AI-based software embedded within today’s AVs,” said Drita Roggenbuck, senior vice president of NI’s Transportation Business Unit.

“NI’s open and extensible platform gives us the opportunity to solve our customers’ challenges by offering customized and standardized solutions based on the NI toolchain,” said Michael Konrad, President & CEO, Konrad Technologies.

Aggregation and Injection of Test Data

Ensuring the safety and reliability of vehicles that reach the market relies heavily on validating the perception, planning and control algorithms implemented on ADAS electronic control units (ECUs).

A crucial solution in this process is the NI Replay and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) AD system, which allows for the aggregation and injection of real-world road test data or simulation scenarios to thoroughly test ADAS ECUs.

Solution Advantage

By offering a unified toolchain, standardized hardware configurations and a test automation infrastructure that spans the entire ADAS workflow, the partnership empowers companies to decrease capital equipment costs, enhance test coverage and efficiency, and accelerate time to market.

NI's distinctive approach guarantees comprehensive validation test coverage for ADAS/AD functions, enabling the utilization of existing data throughout the entire product lifecycle, thus optimizing performance.
